Minoo Fozdar
Minoo Fozdar, born in Bombay in 1930, was a talented athlete with many medals in sprinting in the 100, 200, and 400 metres. With a science and law degree, Minoo attained the position of Assistant State Financial Officer and later Secretary of the Brunei Currency Board, being awarded a medal by the sultan of Brunei in 1969 in recognition of state service.
Minoo arrived in Australia in 1970, and worked in a Legal Practice in Geraldton and Bunbury. He later joined Legal Aid in Bunbury, assisting many who could not afford legal representation with pro bono advice. Minoo continues an active community life, still playing tennis at the Fremantle Tennis Club. He is a stalwart of the Bahai diaspora community and a tireless community support worker. Minoo received the Melville City Mayor’s Community Champion Award to recognise his outstanding community service. Minoo continues to serve on the Melville Access Advisory Panel.
